この度、弊社代表の小林昇太郎が理事を務める、一般社団法人ひろしまエンターテインメント協会では、在クウェート日本大使館の主催で行われた『広島・長崎原爆ポスター展』に正式に協力させていただきました。

今回の協力は弊社の小林昇太郎と在クウェート日本大使館の向大使ご夫妻との15年に及ぶ関係から実現したものですが、ポスター展には弊社の小林昇太郎から直接にお声がけさせていただき、この企画に賛同をしていただいた下記の方々からメッセージをいただくことができました。お礼と合わせて、以下にお名前を掲載させていただきます。ありがとうございました。

ポスター展最終日には画像にもあるように、向大使と小林との対談を日本のメディア（8bitNews）に取材をいただきました。

また、日本茶セレモニーでは抹茶、お茶菓子など広島の企業の方々から快く協賛をお受けいただき、現地の方々にも喜んでいただくことができました。

ご協賛をいただきました、田頭茶舗様（京都宇治茶）、にしき堂様（生もみじ饅頭）、新庄みそ様（味噌ピーナッツ）には改めて感謝申し上げます。

大使館関係者のお話からも、この開催期間中、原爆ポスター展は現地で大きな関心を持たれていたようです。この理由として、1990年8月2日にイラクのクウェート侵攻により多くのクウェート国民が亡くなるという惨事もあり、今回の原爆ポスター展については現地の方々にも特別な思いを抱かせたようです。

引き続き、弊社としましてもご支援先へのサポートと合わせ、経済的側面だけでなく、文化的、社会的側面からもクウェートと日本、そして中東とアジア、両地域の発展に貢献できることを考えて動いてまいります。

今回のポスター展の最終日には、会場にて向大使ご夫妻ご出席の中、現地来賓の方々へ向けて小林からスピーチさせていただきました。

Ladies and gentlemen,

It is a great honor for me to have the opportunity to speak here today. I sincerely hope that Japan and Kuwait will continue to deepen their bonds through peace, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding.

Considering the harsh international situation surrounding various wars and conflicts in recent times, I believe it is crucial for Japan and Kuwait to play a meaningful role in promoting peace and stability in the world.

The ancient Silk Road served as a trade route connecting the Middle East, Central Asia, and East Asia. It facilitated not only the exchange of goods but also the sharing of cultures, technologies, and the spirit of tolerance, known as "karam" in Arabic. In the modern era, we must carry on this legacy by fostering mutual understanding and cooperation across borders. I believe that Japan and Kuwait, with their strong and friendly relationship, are well-positioned to fulfill this role.

I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on the successful conclusion of the "Hiroshima and Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Poster Exhibition," which was held in Kuwait from April 29 to May 25. This event, led by Kuwait and Hiroshima, delivered an important message about resolving conflicts and wars around the world. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Embassy of Japan in Kuwait, CAP (the Contemporary Art Platform), the organizations in Hiroshima, and the Embassy of Kuwait in Tokyo for their efforts in making this exhibition possible.

Hiroshima is widely known as a city that suffered the devastation of an atomic bomb, but that is not all it represents. Hiroshima is also home to many outstanding companies in industries such as automobiles, furniture, and food. However, the connection between these companies and the Middle Eastern market remains limited.

One example is Matsuoka Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a remarkable company based in Hiroshima that has been in operation for nearly 100 years. Matsuoka Manufacturing, which is also participating in this event today, specializes in fully custom-made kitchens and furniture. Notably, Matsuoka Manufacturing also produced the stainless steel floral tribute stand located in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Their technical expertise and design, along with their commitment to peace, are exceptional, and I believe their products will be well-received in Kuwait. I would be delighted if you could support Matsuoka Manufacturing's kitchens.

Additionally, I would like to share an interesting fact about miso, a traditional Japanese food. Research by Professor Emeritus Watanabe of Hiroshima University has shown that miso may have protective effects against radiation exposure. Speaking of miso, I heard a story from Ms. Yamamoto, the president of Shinjo Miso in Hiroshima, who provided us with a snack made of peanuts coated in miso. She shared that one of her relatives, who was exposed to the atomic bomb in Hiroshima at a young age, lived a long life of 91 years, eating miso every day.

In addition to miso, other Japanese foods, such as green tea, are also known for their health benefits. I hope that people in Kuwait and the Middle East will come to know and enjoy these healthy Japanese foods.

Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has worked tirelessly to strengthen the ties between our two countries. Let us continue to work together to promote cultural exchange and economic cooperation.

皆さま

本日はこの場でお話しできることを大変光栄に思います。日本とクウェートの両国が、平和、文化交流、そしてお互いの理解を深め、関係を強化していくことを強く願っています。

昨今の様々な世界を取り巻く戦争や紛争といった厳しい国際情勢を鑑み、日本とクウェートが世界の平和と安定に向けた役割を果たしていくことは大変重要と考えます。

古代の交易路であったシルクロードは、中東、中央アジア、東アジアを結び、物資だけでなく、文化や技術、人の交流、そして寛容の精神（アラビア語で「カラム」と呼ばれます）を伝えました。

現代の私たちは、この遺産を引継ぎ、国境を越えて相互の理解と協力を促進していかなければなりません。

日本とクウェートは、これまでの両国の良好な関係からも、その役割を果たすことができると信じています。

4月29日から5月25日までクウェートで開催された「広島・長崎原爆ポスター展」が成功のうちに終了したことに心からお祝い申し上げます。このイベントは、クウェートと広島が中心となり実現したものですが、世界中で起きている紛争や戦争の解決に向けて重要なメッセージを発信するものとなりました。この展覧会を実現するために尽力された在クウェート日本大使館、CAP（Contemporary Art Platform）、広島の関係機関、そして在東京のクウェート大使館の皆様に深く感謝申し上げます。

広島は原爆の被害を受けた都市として世界中に知られていますが、それだけが広島の全てではありません。広島には自動車、家具、食品などの優れた企業が多数存在していますが、これらの企業と中東地域との接点は、残念ながらまだ少ないのが現状です。

本日、このイベントにも参加されている株式会社松岡製作所は、広島に本社を置き、創業から約100年続く企業で、完全オーダーメイドのキッチンや家具を製造しています。また、松岡製作所は広島平和記念公園にあるステンレス製の献花台も製作しました。彼らの技術力とデザイン、そして平和への想いは素晴らしく、クウェートでも受け入れられると信じています。皆様が松岡製作所のキッチンを応援してくださると嬉しいです。

加えて、皆さんは、味噌が放射能の被爆に効果があることをご存じでしょうか。この研究については、広島大学の名誉教授である渡辺先生が研究論文を発表されました。

みそと言えば、今回、みそでコーティングしたピーナッツのスナック菓子を提供していただいた広島の新庄みその山本社長から聞いた話ですが、山本社長の親戚も若い時、広島に落とされた原爆で被爆しましたが、毎日、味噌を食べ続け、９１歳まで長生きされたそうです。この他にも、日本の食材、例えば日本茶なども健康にはよいとされています。

このような健康によいとされている日本の食材をクウェート、中東の皆様にもぜひ知っていただきたいと考えています。

最後に、両国の絆を強めるために尽力していただいたすべての方々に心から感謝申し上げます。文化交流と経済協力を促進するために、引き続き共に協力して進めてまいりましょう。
